Boquita de Cielo is a London-based art studio run by Belgians Koen Meersman and Kris Scheerlinck. The studio creates artistic interventions in the form of handmade ceramic tiles, murals and sculptural pieces. The duo is fascinated by the alchemy of material, form and finish. Rich in texture, the hand-carved ceramic artworks evoke an almost visceral, and emotional response. Occupying a space between art and design, Boquita de Cielo stands for unexpected combinations of elaborated textures and finishings, highlighting the spatial qualities in high-end architectural projects of a domestic or commercial nature or within the hospitality industry.

With a mutual appreciation for tactility, materiality and form, it’s a natural conclusion that friends and neighbours Boquita de Cielo and Monument, come together in a dialogue between their signature works. Juxtaposing Boquita de Cielo’s rich and textural hand-sculpted ceramic murals, with a pared back curation of Monument’s iconic design collection - the contrasting elements create a cohesive layered exhibit, that speaks to the shared philosophy of both studios.
